Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette Review + Eyeshadow Look

I am in love. This was an impulse purchase, as soon as I read on NouveauCheap that Coastal Scents was releasing a new Revealed palette that was supposed to be a dupe for Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette, I took out my "only for emergencies" card and bought it for $9.95 (+ $4.95 US Shipping) because a Naked 3 dupe for $10 qualifies as an emergency, right? Right.

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara Review

I definitely prefer volume to length or definition when it comes to mascaras. I have slightly hooded lids so I can't really rely on a thick liner when trying to enhance my lash line so I have to depend on mascara itself. I was very excited to try Maybelline's The Rocket because mega volume is one of its main (if not the main) seller points.

I have never really liked nor disliked Maybelline's mascara packaging. Its okay. Packaging and general appearance tend to come secondary for me when it comes to a makeup product. The tube is bullet shaped and is a bright cobalt blue, with hot pink lettering. But just so you know the lettering does rub off with time.

This mascara is supposed to give 8x bigger volume. The brush is a synthetic rubber brush with a rather thick core covered in tiny, stiff bristles that slight taper towards the tip. I also tend to prefer natural bristle brushes to these synthetic ones, but that's just personal preference. Just a tip, when looking for volumizing mascaras, usually ones like this one with a big core and smaller bristles work best when synthetic. All natural bristle brushes tend to work well for volume.

Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder Review

I bought Maybelline's Dream Wonder Powder a month or two after it first came out but I never really used it because it just never really appealed to me. So why did I buy it? Because its makeup and I had money. I know. I have a problem.

above: sexy product shot, I must admit I like the
packaging // left: there are two different
"compartments", the first one holds the product
// right: the second compartment, when you lift
the layer holding the powder, you get a mirror
(not shown) and a place to keep the sponge
applicator (comes included)

Pond's Luminous Finish BB Cream Review

I don't try a lot of face products, specifically BB creams, because for one, I have oily skin, so a lot of stuff just ends up sliding off my face, and secondly, I have got breakout prone skin. I always do extensive research before buying anything, whether it be eyebrow products or foundations and lipsticks.

I have used a couple products from the Pond's line, my mother and grandmother both used their products and I never really had a problem with the products I've used (Pond's Clarant B3 Moisturizer and their Dry Skin Cream). So when I heard Pond's had a BB cream I decided to shell out the $10 bucks it cost since it was on sale and try it out, of course only after watching some reviews on it that mentioned it as not being greasy or oily.

(Drugstore) Red Lipstick Hoarder

I love red lipstick, like love. To quote Gwen Stefani when she first tried on red lipstick "Uh-huh, I like that. That's the sh*t right there." I love lipstick in general--but red, swoon. Now that you have an idea of how much I like lipstick, you also need to know that the only thing I love more than red lipstick is a great, inexpensive, red lipstick. So that's what I'm going to be rambling on about today.

I must admit that for someone who claims to love red lipstick so much, I don't really own a crazy amount of red lipstick. I own thirteen of them. Okay so to some it might sound like a lot, but to me, it isn't too crazy a number.

They are all drugstore lipsticks and range from $2.00 to the $9, $10 range depending where you are buying. My red lipstick collection includes lipsticks from Avon, Revlon, Wet n Wild, Essence, Rimmel and NYX. I will be showing you swatches on my arm and on my lips (which for reference aren't very pigmented, and I have NW20-25 skin, light medium skin tone). I will also give a brief review on each, and I will make another post to help you find the red for your skin tone (although personally I think anyone can wear any shade and look great).
